The most convenient way to arrive to the State of
Yucatán is to fly directly into Manuel Crescencio Rejón Airport (MID), Mérida,
México. Airfare to Cancun is far more affordable from just about anywhere
around the world, particularly when you compare it the cost of arriving into Mérida
(usually twice as much); but if travel convenience is more important to you
than cost, this is the best choice (and
it is extremely easy and convenient).
Barring any unforeseen circumstances, it is only an hour from the time you
disembark the plane to the moment you are unpacking in your pool-side cabana at
Posada Chicxulub. The two-gate international airport in Mérida, the capital
city of the State of Yucatán, is quick and efficient in processing passengers
and their luggage; and offers (somewhat) affordable taxi service directly to
Chicxulub Pueblo for $550 mxn (Mexican Pesos), or around $35-40 usd (US
Dollar).
Upon arrival to Manuel Crescencio Rejón International Airport in Merida (MID), and clearing customs and immigration (just follow the crowd), simply look for the “taquilla de taxis”, or taxi ticket booth, just before leaving the building. There, you will request a taxi to Chicxulub Pueblo, (BE SURE TO ASK FOR PUEBLO, NOT Puerto), and they will sell you a ticket that you will exchange outside the terminal for a taxi ride all the way to your door in Chicxulub Pueblo (Calle 14 #100A x 19 y 21, or Calle Catorce, Numero Cien Ah entre diez y nueve y veinte y uno*).
